The Cambodian people celebrate the Monks Retreat during the rainy season when they stay in pagodas. They get provisions from the population. At the Royal Palace in the Throne Hall, on 30 June 2009, His Majesty the King presided over this ritual ceremony. For cult offerings, His Majesty the King donated 12 big candles, flowers, and as commodities to the pagodas, boxes of beverage, rice bags , which will be transported to different pagodas in the capital city.
