His Majesty the King left for Beijing - People’s Republic of China

In the morning of the 15th of October 2012 HM the King Preah Bat Norodom Sihamoni, accompanied by Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, left the capital city Phnom Penh for Beijing, People’s Republic of China, to escort the Body of His Majesty King Father Preah Bath Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk back to the Kingdom. His Majesty King Father, age 90, passed away in Beijing’s hospital on the 15th of October at 1:20 AM Phnom Penh time. His Majesty the King was greeted at the Phnom Penh International Airport by H.E. Mr. Say Chhum, acting President of the Senate, H.E. Mr. Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.E. Mr. Sok An, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Council of Ministers, Lok Chumteav Men Sam An, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Nhek Bun Chhay Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Yim Chhay Ly Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Council of Rehabilitation and Rural Development, Lok Chumteav Khuon Sundary, 2nd vice President of the National Assembly, H.E. Mr. Pan Kang Su, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Royal Family members, dignitaries and High Representatives of Cambodian institutions.
