Celebrations in France Installation of HM the King, Associé étranger de l’ Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres.

On 11 March 2010, HM the King was on official visit in France to receive an honorable distinction : “Associé étranger de l’Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres” for His internationally prominent role in Cambodian historic and archeologic research and for heritage protection. Attending this historic event Samdech Chauvea Veang Kong Sam Ol, deputy prime minister and minister of the Royal palace, Samdech Norodom Vachira, high privy counselor to HM ht eKIng, Mrs. Khek Sisoda, high privy counselor to HM the King and embassadress extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the People’s Republic of China, Cambodian diplomats to France, and Cambodian senior officials. The Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres is an institution of French and foreign scientists, with 55 French members, 40 foreigners, and 100 French and foreign correspondents Each member holds this noble title for life. HM the King ‘s “ installation”to this noble institution is a historic event for the Cambodian nation and people.
